Back to School

girl with bunny rabbit pigtails and ribbons animated gif Each year I can't sleep the night before school begins. You would think after all these years, I would not be so nervous. For the past few years, my students have been really difficult. I hated getting up and going to work. I felt like a very expensive babysitter. Well, this year, I have a very nice class. I did change my outlook toward work. I am really tired of how teachers are treated. I have decided I can't change how other people behave, but I can change what I think and how I feel about things. SO, I guess it is working. Happy Back to School!

School is almost here!

So,this is my last day before school starts. I am looking forward to going back. I am feeling positive about the new year. I still can't believe it is 25 years already. Oh, I finished my doll. I know she looks so silly but I really like her. I will be sending her off to Africa on pay day. Oh, can't wait until pay day!

Fall

I am up early. I love this time of the day. It is really still summer but fall is in the air. Last night, Kelly slept with me so we could hang out by my window and feel the cool sweet air of fall. I finally finished Donna's blanket. I can't wait to give it to her.

Life is Good

I have been completely WIP that have been in hibernating for years. Such satisfaction! I have also rested and spent time with friends and family. I checked the calendar, and work is just around the corner. I can't believe how fast time goes as you get older. When I was a kid, summers seem never ending. I am not ready to go back to work yet. 25 years teaching, some years great and some years not so great. However, it seems the years are getting harder and not fun. It was really nice to be back at #1 school. I was given such a warm welcome from old friends and new friends. I have learned attitude is everything. So with a positive attitude, I am going to enjoy the last few weeks of summer with Kelly, friends and family.

Living Life on My Own Terms

Kelly is on her second vacation with her father. I really miss her already. She left on Friday. I know she will have fun. So for the next week, I will crochet a lot and try to get all my projects done for the Olympics on Ravelry. I have been thinking a lot about turning 50 next year. I want to make the next 50 years of my life, a time when I make a difference in the world. I have been thinking about what it mean to Live Life on My Own Terms. I think as women, we tend to want to always make others feel good. Weather it is our children, husbands, friends or student-if we are teachers. So, the question I pose is, what does living life on our terms really mean. I am willing to take this journey and find out. How, I don't know. I think it starts with letting go of fear of what could happen in the future and move forward -people use this word a lot but I can't say I know what that means but I am willing to find out!!!!!
